Textile Guestbook, 2025

The Textile Guestbook is a participatory garment that connects its wearers by writing directly onto the garment about their wearing experiences. This project highlights another perspective on the notion of garments being our textile homes: now, these textile homes are shared and do not belong to anyone but are rather evolving entities on their own. The garment holds six embroidered questions, which can be answered after wearing.
The first Textile Guestbook, a sublimation printed scarf, is now thus being followed up by a second edition: a hand embroidered second hand vest. The vest will be distributed through Kleiderei Hamburg, a clothing rental and second hand shop. I’m looking forward to every new wearer that the vest will get.
